Welcome to the Bit Bucket

After starting to write about my journey to get CCIE certified on Evernote, I thought it would be good to write a blog.

I thought that this would be good for several reasons:

  1. It will give other people thinking of following the same path insight in to my journey
  2. It will reinforce my knowledge of the topics I’m learning
  3. It will provide somewhere for other like-minded network engineers to practice with labs in the labs section
  4. It will also give me something to look back on years ahead.

So I decided to get a website together and start blogging. First challenge was to come up with a site name and reserve the domain name.

I came up with a few ideas but one thing always stuck with me when thinking about networking and that is the metaphorical ‘bit bucket’ – The place that packets go to die.

Several iterations of the domain were already taken but I managed to come up with one that was available, so reserved it and here we are.

Hopefully I will be updating this site regularly in between studying, working and other things.
